Tiffany Black is a native of the lovely shores of St. Petersburg, Florida. Her training is extensive with both a bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis on African American Studies from the Florida State University and a professional Studio Acting certificate from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Los Angeles.
Tiffany has landed roles on Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse, STARZ’s Survivors Remorse, HBO’s Vice Principals, and TV One’s highest rated original movie, When Love Kills, which is currently nominated for an NAACP Image Award.
Like many actors, the lack of roles and quality of roles led a frustrated Tiffany to screenwriting. While she has studied writing throughout the years, she did not begin to pursue it as a career until later in her acting career. Since then she has taken screenwriting course at LA City College, Screenwriters University, sit-com writing with Lamont Ferrell, and a Shonda Rhimes master class. She’s written, produced and starred in The Gram, an exciting look at the new, misleading culture that exists within social media. Tiffany has been named one of 2018’s Diversity Fellows for WritersForWriters. She has also written a couple of multi-cam comedy specs, one multi-cam pilot, two single cam comedy, an hour-long drama, and is currently writing a webseries that has advanced to the second round of Sundance’s Youtube New Voices Lab.
All in all, she is most passionate about the world and inner thoughts of those who are young, and highly criticized. Her work as a writer will reflect their voices, how they became who they are, and how they matriculate in a nation where the majority thinks the country would be better if they weren’t in it.
